Bridge Players...

I would like to learn how to play bridge but don't know how to get started!

Any advice gratefully received!

how long have you got? I started to learn bridge when I was a teenager, sadly I no longer play, but it would be safe to say I was still learning plenty of years later. Are you wanting to play competitive bridge or just social bridge? There are a number of bridge clubs around, and like photography clubs some are good and some are not. Many clubs now are predominantly aimed at the competitive forms rather than the social aspect (which is a shame).

Be prepared though, bridge can become totally obsessive

I think I am looking to play socially to start with (although I am fairly competitive!)

I used to play whist, but would like more of a challenge, and I suspect I will have to steel myself and go to a local club... very daunting!
