I have been having a problem with Bridge CS3 lately, by way of the fact it is not displaying RAW files as images, just as the RAW icon. This is only happening with images taken in the last couple of weeks, they display fine in PS CS3 and in Lightroom 2. Also any old images in RAW display just fine.

I have double checked that i have Adobe Camera RAW plug-in, although without this the images wouldn't display in PS either. Thus i am a wee bit confused. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance for any help

I have given up on bridge as it does the same with all my shots from my 40D, as you it will open in Photoshop and lightroom but bridge just refuses to play ball :(

Sorry that aint much help, but you aren't alone :p

Hi Jamesward93. I know its a pain but have you tried reinstalling CS3, I had a similar problem a few months ago and reinstalled and this appears to have solved the problem.

Thanks guys, i have reinstalled CS3 and although some of the files are now being displayed, all the images i took on a shoot last week are still not showing!! i might just bin bridge, which is a pain as i prefer using it to organize my files.

If anyone else has any suggestions i am all ears

I had this problem when I first installed bridge. All that was displayed where the RAW icons.
Try going to tools>purge>cache while in the folder where the thumbnails won't display.
In edit>preferences>cache there is also a click box to purge the cache. Clicking on it doesn't affect my system but can't guarantee that will be the case for everybody

It may be worth checking that the updated ACR plugin is in the right place. Mine loaded in the photoshop folder not the cs3 plugin folder.

Probably not the right version of ACR but the instuctions are the same.

Paul G, thanks for your help on this. It looks like i had the wrong version of ACR installed. I had 5.3, which is the latest version but is not compatible with CS3. I deleted all versions of the plug-in from the CS3/Plug-ins folder and from the Photoshop folder and installed ACR version 4.6. This solved the problem and everything is playing nicely now!
