Yes
My sons birthday is coming up and he wants a camera that will take both HD video and resonable pictures. Clearly no one product will do both things really well but a combined package would be nice.

My research is tending me towards a Fujifilm HS10

http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/fujifilm_finepix_hs10_review/

but there are a number of similarly priced/speced options out there.

Anyone have any direct experience of this camera before I commit to buying one? Or better options for £350 or less?

Thanks in advance.

I have the predecessor the S9600 and really enjoy it.

I had a play with the HS10 in Jessops a couple of weeks ago and it is really impresive.

Nice big clear LCD, good manual zoom going to something silly like 600mm.

One big thing with this camera as it has a manual twist zoom like an slr would, you can zoom whilst shooting video and do it quickly and quietly, any motorised zoom would be slow and noisy.

As a camera you can shoot RAW and Jpeg, have full manual control as well as Macro etc. etc.

will even take a flashgun.

If I had the cash I would have one.

EdBray on here has one I beleive.

Thanks- I'll drop into Jessops and see if I can have a play with one- it's a good idea to check out how it feels & handles first.

I have just been field testing one and I'm so impressed I have toyed with the idea of selling some gear to get one I'm sure you and your son will not be disapointed at only £254.98 in case and RMSD :)
