Not too brilliant to be honest, the fencing will still be in your way, directly in front of you. If you have a long lens you may be able to get some shots of the cars as they come down from Druids or bottom bend but if the meeting is busy you will be hampered for room for your lens or panning etc. due to other spectators.

Not worth paying the extra £10 then....cheers mate
Only worth it for sitting and watching 99% of each lap of the Indy circuit. If you want photos as well you could have a wander to the other places as well. At more low key events the grandstand doesn't really fill up, but as I said you are limited for shots.

I've only been to Brands once, a couple of years ago for a HSCC meet. I'm not sure which bit is called Paddock Hill Grandstand but we sat up at the top of this one for a bit, which is just at the start of the hill up to Druids. Gives you this view. (You'll have to stitch them together in your mind 
)
Photos will depend on what lens you have and how lucky you are with avoiding the loudspeakers! There is opportunity to get good first corner action and side on tracking shots.

Seth, thats the now gone grandstand outside the cafe you are talking about.
Paddock Hill grandstand is the grey and white concrete stand about 2 thirds from the left of your first photo - ie on the first corner of the circuit (Paddock Hill bend).
And yes its a bit pants for decent photos really. Good place to watch a race from mind you - especially on the Indy circuit - eg DTM this weekend or BTCC later in the year.

I think it went because without WSB any more they just don't get enough people who want to pay for grandstand seating. It started life as a temporary WSB erection (oooer!) and then it stayed for ages after one WSB year. Now WSB has gone from Brands so has it.
