Well just about to take early retirement at 54 and just wanted to check my state pension and I am fully paid up so I have paid my NI stamp for the full 35 years so that means i have only missed one year as i left college at 18 My BR19 has just landed £203/week at age 67 at the current rates.

PS though you may get a letter or two suggesting/reminding you that NI supports the NHS so your further voluntary contributions would be welcome (should you so wish)?

It's irritating that state pension in the UK is paid every 4 weeks, rather than monthly. My German state pension is paid monthly, which makes budgeting simpler. (It's also noticeable that I get from Germany circa £150 a month for just 2.8 years contributions, but had to do 35 years here for £883. It shows how poor the UK pension is by comparison. Mind you, the contributions were a bit higher in Germany back then)

I get a company pension paid 4 weekly as well as OAP coming soon and have found it to be easy, amount divided by 4, and any excess paid into a savings account for “rainy day” or holiday funds when the next payment arrives. We have few monthly standing orders so it was simple to total them and divide by 13 to give a figure to ‘bank’ before spending calculations.

Or just do as I do, I to get my main pension 4 weekly and make each payment last a calendar month then in December I get 2 payments and use the extra one to pay for a few little extras over the period.

well thats always possible but collecting mine is like 12 years away so i am looking at it as abilly bonus really if me and the missus get it £1600 month minimum on top of the private stuff.
