hello!

i currently offer 'photo booth' services, although its not a booth as such
and doesn't offer instant prints. however, although I have had a few bookings with the way it is a fair few have decided not to as the option of instant prints is not there.

I am looking for some way I can get my/a printer to print a 6x4" double 'booth' strip appearance. Ideally I wanted a gap at the bottom for my web address.

Also, this would be done by using an SD card straight into the printer which could prove a pain if the SD card corrupts, even more at risk with the number of times it would be in and out.

Has any one any ideas?

Thanks in advance x

If you added a laptop into the mix you could create and run an action in PS. Not sure there is a printer out there that could create what you require straight from an SD card.

Most party photo booth operators use dye sub printers in their booths. A small number of these printers will now do a 6x2" cut strip on the standard 6x4" print media packs.

The machines that I am aware that can do this now are the DNP DSRX1 and the Mitsubishi CPD70/707 . The DNP DS40 will have that option in June.

Mention of DSRX1 cut here ( second story down) - http://www.photoboothtalk.com/

( very good US based website)

Info any use then Gemma?

A firmware update.

Thanks Mark.

Do you email your customers who have bought the machines when there is a firmware update or is there a way to register with DNS for software updates?

n.b. You were out to lunch or hiding when I called in yesterday. Had great service from the young chap in the showroom.

Robin, well we do our best to let poeple know, but it is not always applicable to all teh customers.

We should update on the website, and so should DNP, the manufacturer.

By the way, I was most definately not hiding yestyerday, and I was on lunch between 12.30 and 1pm. Did you ask to see me? I never got the message.

Hi Mark

Oops replying in two threads. I was only pulling your leg. It was probably about 12:30 when I saw a young lady going up the stairs and asked for you.

I am sure we'll meet next time I'm in.

No probs. I hope all is well with the printer you purchased.

Yep had a few odd marks on the first few prints. Have blown it out and need to run some more through and give it time to bed in as such.

I wouldn't like to try and lift a flight case with a DS40 and DS80 in though...
