Hi,
I am a complete beginner to photography and was just wondering if anyone can suggest any good books/cd roms that would help me?
Thanks in advance,
Lisa

Hi Lisa - Welcome to TP

Have you looked in the tutorial section in this forum? There's some really informative stuff in there ........ and it's free!! Clicky here

Have a look around your local library, they'll have some books you can investigate too.

Understandin Exposure by Bryan Peterson is a good read.

Welcome to TP :)

Daz, as another noob thanks for the link, going to take more than one sitting as long day in the office and on the wine but first read is very informative and in my sort of easy to understand English lol :)

Nice one Ryan.
A lot of people miss this tutorial / info section and i think its one of the best i have ever come across. Plain english and always there for reference.

good luck

Great advice from psifox, this book is brilliant and so easy to read/understand : )

I would have to recommend "Chasing The Light" DVD by my favourite pro landscape photographer David Noton. Of course an interest in landscapes is a must.

The book "Inspiring Professionals - The Landscape Photographers’ Guide To Using Filters." is a good companion and only costs £10.

I would also recommend any books that cover post shot editing e.g Scott Kelby's books on photoshop etc.
They will be invaluable in the first instance until you are familiar with the software you will be using.
