Looking for a beginner-level/intro to photography to suit a 10 year old.

Books I've seen seem to be split by intro to digital photography / intro to creative photography. Interested in anything that covers both areas to some extent. The child concerned is using a compact at the moment.
 
i think if you want something simple for a 10 year old, then bryan petterson's books come to mind. he has a lot of them but ive found that all basically just repeat the same main points. perhaps you might want to go with learning to see creatively or understanding exposure. i think both will be fine for your boy
