Just noticed that UKReg are offering a co.uk domain name free when you purchase a .com - http://www.ukreg.com/register-domains/bogof-domains/ - I have used them for my domain names for years now and never had a problem (though they did have a security breach a few months ago - but it didnt seem to do anything).

£8.89 for a .com - plus £5.90 credit for your .co.uk - so it looks like the .co.uk doesnt have to be the same as the .com

EDIT - Oh yeah! posting this as there seem to be a lot of people building website etc recently.

Thumbs up for UKReg here.

Domain names can be bought for one year or multiples of one year. So for example a dot com domain name for instance may cost you 8.99 incl VAT for one year or 17.99 incl VAT for 2 years and YES it's a one off payment for the period you have bought your domain name which needs to be renewed at the expiry of the period.

On the other hand if you wish to host your domain then it's either a monthly or yearly subscription.

Now you tell me :(

I've just acquired two more domain names earlier this week. But, no matter. They've paid for themselves a thousand-fold already ;)
