Hello all!

I'm in the process of buying a BMPCC OG and a filmmaking friend of mine recommended that I get a Metabones speedbooster for it.

I just wanted to ask if my camera needs one or not? Is the difference in image quality worth it?

Also if so, which speedbooster would people recommend and which lens to go with it? Which lenses are adaptable? For reference I'd prefer a smaller lens that is easy to travel with, I do a lot of Guerrilla filmmaking lol, auto focus and image stabilisation would be a plus but not essential.

Another question I had was about battery grips, I know the BMPCC OG has a notoriously bad battery life with its standard battery so i thought I'd get a battery grip, does anyone have a preference for which one I should get? I thought about getting the Andycine Universal Battery Handle Grip.

Thanks for listening!

Hi and welcome to TP.
You might get more help if you type the name of the camera rather than making everyone google to know what the heck you’re on about.

AFAIK a speed booster is a type of lens adaptor, therefore the question isn’t whether the camera needs one, it’s whether the camera/lens combo does.

If you want the smallest kit, surely a native lens is the way to go?

My googling didn’t get too detailed, but isn’t the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera an M4/3 design? Therefore there’s plenty of native lens options.

Phil has offered good advice there. May I add that it would have been more regular to introduce yourself first and then ask your questions? However,...Although this site is really about stills photography, some are into video and so you will be welcome as a new member of that sub-community here, hopefully contributing your experiences and posting links to your work (we probably don't have the storage and bandwidth to host much video footage on TP itself - usually links to Youtube or other sites are used).
