My partner and I are preparing, through Lightroom, a few books to include photographs from our last two years of travel and I am about to send the first to order however, at 28 pages, it is the smallest book of them all. I would ideally like all of the books to carry the same hard cover wrap format to provide for them to sit neatly on a bookshelf however, given the width of the Blurb binding, I am worried that this book will look unsightly and particularly 'small'. How many pages would one recommend to justify using the hard cover wrap? Our other books will easily exceed 40 pages.

Many thanks for your input.

This is not to properly answer your question, since I've never made a book via LR, but just to say that Blurb used to have a graduated range of spine sizes and it was best to err towards filling any given size up, page-count wise, than leaving it lean. But that's about how the fill sits inside the cover, not how it looks on a shelf ...

Do you know the page ranges for the spine sizes? I can't see any information about that on the internet or within the Book module.

Sorry I don't have it to hand but it is out there in the inter-labyrinth if you hunt long enough ... I'll try the Blurb site now.

Just found this reference - scroll down to the last message response ... not much help really. It's a year or two since I did a Blurb book (hardcover) but I remember going into it all at the time (and finding answers that worked).

It may be that your 28pp could be on the skinny side for the thinnest book case - the sure way is to try it!
