Hello,

in the BJP they had an article about http://www.blurb.com, i have had a look at their website and its pretty good, has anyone used this service? What were the resutls?

Seems likes a good idea.

I have just used it for a college course I am doing. It is on the way back just not got it yet.
However a friend of mine doing the same course has got here book back and she said "Wow, it is fab, really impressed"

The Blurb templates are really eay to use and the service is quick, will let you know what i think when I get ti back which should be any day now.
 
There's a good write-up on another forum that I use. They seem to be pretty good!

p.s. read their terms and conditions:

by uploading to their site you give them a royalty free licence to print them for you or any customer and they can use your images in any promotional material.
 
The POTN photo books are printed by blurb. Never seen one but I've heard quite good things.

The software is quirky and limiting apparantly.

Alternative is Lulu - software better - can upload a pdf but I don't think the paper is as good - I want a satin finish rather than matt.
 
Thanks for the info 4hero. Doesnt sound like they could take your images and sell them or anything and selling your book to other people isnt a bad thing, just you wont see any returns on them.
 
Got my book back today from Blurb all I can say is thumbs up. Really pleased, printed very well onto glossy paper.

I use blurb for a client and she is pretty happy with the hard back dust cover books.
The delivery takes a bit and isnt all that cheap.
There are a lot of templates and they just improved their program so that its quicker.

You can always create full page layouts in photoshop and use the full page template if there isnt a layout you like.
 
Quality is good, but be aware that you do loose a bit when fitting to page (full bleed) - I lost scalps and toes in some shots, but they do warn about this...
Well worth the money, and ordering more soon..!
