I have an image of a car that is light blue, and it needs to be 'white'.
My photshop skills are well short of being able to do this, my question is: is there anyone out their willing to give it a go for me?

Seems like a very difficult way of doing it?? why dont you just try again but with a white car??

a friend has supplied a photo of the 'blue' race car, they want the car to be white..

I have already removed a large race number from the bonnet, I need to loose the race numbers and stickers
and finish with the car in white... tips, clues on how to achive this welcome..

Thanks

Learn how to do it, its not difficult.

Use a hue and sat adjustment layer for the colour of the car (this one happens to be yellow) and if the cars colours are in any other part of the image paint the changes back out using the brush tool amd black paint on the adjustment layer.

Just had a quick go at it I removed the colour using the same technique that OlyPaul mentions. A little bit of Levels adjustment and content aware fill + clone stamp tool to remove stickers.

It might just be my monitor, but the red fiat in the background has a light and it's numberplate clipping to yellow, most unsightly.

It's a pretty damm fine effort, all told :)

If I was being very picky I'd say the clone marks are a little obvious in front of the buldge in the bonnet and on the door panel (though the latter doesn't jump out much)

I did say it was a quick go :) To be honest I never even notice the car behind but I've corrected that now along with a few other things. First time I've done this sort of colour modification so on the whole I'm not unhappy with the result.
