Blue and purple lines on print :(

Hi everyone, I've had an Epson photo 1500w for about a year now and suddenly it has started printing a faint blue and faint purple line at the beginning of each print.

It doesn't print the lines anywhere else on the photograph just at the start (left hand side of print as you look at it).

I've tried altering various settings and but to no avail anyone else had this problem?

Any help greatly appreciated.

is it on the edge of the paper?


I take it you have checked the head for blockages and alignment?

Hi, yes on the edge if the paper, done all allignment and blockage checks and everything seems fine, if I print A3 the 1st line appears about 1cm in and the second about 1.5 cm in then the rest of the print is crystal clear.

Apart from plain paper

Could be the head is catching on the edge of the paper, photo paper is slightly thicker than standard paper so might explain the difference with paper types. my epson has this problem printing some A5 cheap photo paper from poundland i think its just sticks up a bit and causes the head to catch it.

this is my thought also.

is the paper flat or curled up at the edges?
