I have a TV with 3 hdmi inputs. I have a cctv system going into 1 of the inputs. Every 36 hours or thereabouts l loose signal from the cctv and the TV confirms this. If l remove the lead and plug it back in numerous times it makes no difference, but if l blow into the connector on the cable and plug it back in it works every time. I have tried using the other inputs but it's the same story with them all. I can only think that when l blow into it l'm removing static in some way. To replace the lead is a big job as the cable runs inside the wall. Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I have just dug out a short lead as you say and noticed it has 2 ferrite cores on it, do you think they might help as the troublesome main lead doesn't have any?

I don't think they will make any difference, but no harm in trying the cable.
 
It makes me wonder if the terminal plug on the cable has a fault...... perhaps an age related dry joint? Your blowing into it 'reconnects' but a day later it has 'failed' again?

Maybe look into cutting it off and fit a repair connector.

Couldn't you buy a new cable, run it externally to check all is good, then use the old cable to pull the new cable through?
