Hi,

I did some group shots recently indoors with flash but i could barely get a decent shoot as one guy constantly blinked.

Is there a way in PP to crop his eyes when open and paste into the shots when closed ? - he's at the back of the shot so it would be quite forgiving.

Any good techniques to help people to stop blinking ?

tia,
Mike.

Yes it's fairly easy, I line up the eyes by lowering the opacity on the eyes open layer, using free transforn untill it's lined up with the closed eyes and where I want it (put the opacity back up once your lined up), then I favor a hide all layer mask (alt and click on the layer mask icon) then using a soft brush I "paint" the eyes back in. Sometimes you'll need to tweak the exposure or colour, that'll depend on how similar the shots are.
Sometimes firing the flash before the actual shot will stop them blinking, with others counting down and shooting early will fool them, but with some people the flash triggers the blink.....

Thanks Wayne - are you referring to Photoshop here?

I only have lightroom but i don't believe it can be achieved in LR?

Correct. You could do something similar with GIMP.

Yes I'm talking Photoshop. You mentioned copy and paste so I assumed you had it. But as mentioned Gimp will do it too.

Gimp and many other editors have copy and paste too. (I'm showing my knowledge here)

Copy and paste isn't as easy as using each image in its own layer.
