I have just spent 3.5 hours commenting on some of the themed 52s for 2010. I have only just got to the f's after completing the As to Ds (I'm the only E).

So apologies to those of you who are doing the themed 52s if I haven't got to you this week, I will try to get some more done through the week although I am trying not to visit those who have already posted something for week 2 as I have not yet thought of my own yet!

Although the only poem I know is about Daffodils and it's a bit early for them yet!
 
That's some stirling work! I've only commented on 4 I think. Now I feel really bad. I think there are currently 150 active threads following the theme plus all the personal ones as well.

I cheat and click on random ones, try to get diff ones as much as pos, follow a few 365s that particularly interest me
 
Right, completed down to K now will start on Ls and below tomorrow evening. About halfway through!

I'm just trying to comment on as many of the 52's as possible - there's no particular order to it, but will always try and reciprocate a comment if someone's left one on mine... It's hard work with there being so many participants!
 
My surname's at the end of the alphabet too - so I was always bottom of the list at school as well :shake:

Embarrassing obsessive confession time. But am I the only one who's saved a copy of the list to keep track of whose thread I've commented on? :$
I'll try to comment on as many as possible every week, but any that I do miss I'll pick up in the following week(s). The idea being that I visit each thread at least every 3rd week.

It was fine for week 1 because I got my shot in early and had a whole week to look through them, but right now I'm trying to avoid all the poem threads because I won't get mine done until Saturday . . . I can see a whole week of trying to catch up while people are already starting to post their week 3 entries :bang:
 
I've got about halfway through for week one, I will do the same for week 2 but will start at z and work backwards thus every two weeks I will get everyone.

I suspect it will get easier as time goes on and people drop out and as I identify those who's images I like may get more traffic than others.
 
Something else I have learned doing the 52. It is hard commenting on all those other folk that are doing it. I am trying though!;)

That was one of the positives that I really got out of it last year.
Commenting on the other shots and trying to explain why I did or didn't like them helped me look more critically at my own shots.
Doesn't mean that they're any good, but at least I've got a better idea of why they're crap now! ;) :lol:

I think it's going to be an impossible task to comment on all of them every week this year, but I reckon a few will fall by the wayside by the time we're halfway through.
It'll be a shame, but based on last year I think less than 30% completed the whole 52 weeks.
 
Agreed, its almost impossible to comment on all of them every week, so I have promised myself to comment on at least x-amount each week, maybe having to coment on 3 or 4 pics at a time in some threads, but i think its the only way. If I did them all every week, added in mod duties and working, I doubt I would ever pick up my own camera again this year :lol:
 
I managed to get most of them, before people started posting up week 2. I won't look at the current week till I've got my shot done. It was tough last year getting everyone and we only had about 15 people doing it...
 
I'm trying to do all of them but feel like I am posting the same thing each time so I'm trying to take my time of each of them. Think I'm screwed though, I'm the last letter on the list not too mention I'm on the personal ones and I've only had two comments so far :(

150 you say... Hmm. Much as I would like to comment on them all I don't think its practical. If everyone commented on everyone elses that'd be 150 posts per image in each thread, or after 25 weeks when we switch over thats a total of 3750 posts per thread. And that of course presumes only one comment in each whereas you sometimes end up with discussions on the go.

I think there are so many of us that a better policy might be simply to go and pick a few random ones, plus maybe bookmark 10 you find interesting. That way you consistently post in, say, 10 threads (which you can always change at any time) plus you have at look at another 10 randomly.

I simply can't face 150 threads per week to comment in, at 1 minute per comment thats two and a half hours.

Or of course, just go and look for the 10 threads with the fewest posts in them. That way nobody gets left out. Anyone with 40 posts already that say "great image" isn't going to miss one more me thinks.
