No
No I'm not a city boy ****er, but I have decided to get this with vodafone as they have offered me a sweet deal.

Just wondered if anyone owned one and what they thought about it? Do you like?

I was really up for getting an iPhone but I couldn't be bothered changing me number, direct debit etc.

It comes Thursday... woop!

Ooops, should have got the iphone IMHO - no need to change number or any of that nonsense... Blackberry's are good though, especially for email.

Maybe I just like style over substance... :D

Still can't get my iphone on 2.2.1 to unlock, so if anyone can help...

O2 are losing the exclusivity on iPhone, perhaps you should have waited.

I have a blackberry pearl so I can access my emails but the browser is truly crap.

I'm really not sure what to do when the contract is up in august. I was thinking about the slightly wider blackberry with the full qwerty, though I'm getting used to the pearl keyboard now for text it is still a bind when browsing (if I could get the browser to work at a sensible pace)

I hadn't heard anything good about the storm yet, so it will be interesting to hear how you get on.

Looked at a Storm for my next phone but I am not keen on the way the screen presses in, it may break easily

features etc look good but I prefer staying with a phone as appose to a blackberry

let us know how you get on

NOOO! You haven't heard anything good?!

I heard the internet has much improved so access to Youtube etc is actually running, please say it so. My commute to work everyday is an hour bit of youtube would be bliss.

Can have 4000 songs on there as well...but i've got an ipod..hmm me thinks I could have made a mistake.

Butmy tariff is brilliant as I've been a vodafone customer for yonks. I'll have to wait 18months time until I get an iPhone and of course it will be much better by then

I'd like a proper browser so that you can use the free wifi spots. It would be great to be able to use google on the move. Loads of times I've been sat in Airports or motorway services and needed access to something to do with my day but been unable to use it.

If the storm could do that then great, I know the iPhone can.

Well I've got a storm, I fact i'm typing this reply on it, I think is great, browsing on here is a doddle as are a lot of other sites I frequent, e-mail is great and it works as a phone too!

The touch screen takes a bit of getting used to but you soon pick it up( even with my sausage fingers)

Browsing speeds are good considering I only get GPRS in my area no 3G for me it takes around 5-10 second for page to load which isn't bad.

The only gripe I have is when replying on here I can't use smilies, I just can't get the cursor to pick them up?

So don't worry and enjoy(thumbs up)

Trapper where did you read/hear that 02 are losing their sole rights on the i-phone and when?

Great! I was concerned about browsing the net, page loading times etc but you have rested my mind, thanks.

Only gripe I have is that I cannot get it re-directed to my work address so will have to now wait until Monday to get my mitts on it!

I heard it on another site where there are a number of people in the industry. A quick Google shows supply problems in the UK and Vodafone getting a contract for 10 European countries, with a second company getting access in italy.

If it isn't a done deal yet then it seems the writing is on the wall.

The Blackberry storm is the worst blackberry yet. I've had most of them over the years, including a 7230, 7290, pearl, 8800, curve, bold and now the storm.

And no - I don't buy them, I'm the Blackberry admin where I work so I need to test each Blackberry as it comes out. The storm is far and away the worst of the lot. (of course IMHO)

I currently have a Storm and an Iphone (for which I pay myself). If I'm going to make a business call i use my iphone.

Surely it can't be worse than the pearl at browsing? Is that possible?

Vodphone have has exclusive rights in Spain since launch, I dont know about other EU territories as I dont spend time there.

I would think thats the deal has been done as O2's agreement finishes this month. All other Uk carriers then get to launch the iPhone with the latest model dur in the UK in July.

I dont work directly for a UK mobile carrier either I just have very good contacts ;)

i dont own one
but the only thing i didnt like about it was you have to press the screen rather than touch it
i guess if you get used to it should be okay, but i didnt like when i tried it

i got a blackberry bold about a month ago and i love it so far

Ditto - another admin who manages Blackberry's and I have an iPhone and use it for work rather than a works blackberry.

The Storms screen is weird. Almost as though they've glued the screen to the nipple mouse. It moves about 1mm in all directions and you press the whole screen down to click. Typing is slower, although you do get the widescreen keyboard.

Watch out if you load any extra apps, especially java ones. It's easy to get the thing crashing

Touch screen generally I'm not a huge fan of but I will just have to get used to it.

I'll post my honest opinions on here as to how I think it is, I cahn always give it back after 7 days of receiving it if it is as terrible as some people are saying on here.

Does the touch screen come with a pen? It's not a big deal, aint got chubby fingers or anything . .

Yeah, your right there, when I started to use it I pressed the relevant letter and waited for it to appear....... which made it painfully slow, now however I now just bash on with my typing, the type on the screen does catch up eventually:lol:

Great news about the iPhone! Its about time that O2 got a bit of comeuppance with thier disgusting rates and crap deals! With other networks possibly getting thier hands on the handset it may (will) introduce some competition again and us the consumer actually getting some decnet rates!

I would wait for the Storm 2 to be released. By the sounds of it they have fixed the screen and also included wifi which was missing from the original one.

I had the Storm for about 3 months before I moved back to the Bold, just find the Bold so much easier to use with the fixed keyboard. Though the latest firmware for the Storm has resolved some of the useability issues

But doesn't run on a bes :lol::lol:

Unless you use that wonderfully unstable blackberry connect :lol:

That's what I was thinking of getting when my pearl contract runs out in September.

How is that at browsing?

its alrite
it can handle all sites
the screen makes it display sites nicely
the trackball makes it nice to move around
but in my opinion its not as good as rendering pages and navigating as my old nokia n95 8gb which was quite good
im pretty sure it would better than the pearl though

one thing i really dont like is when you try and add text
lets say ure posting on a forum
its really weird when u place the blinking type and sometimes goes into the middle of the box if that makes sense
maybe its just me though??

is that the business enterprise thing
mine is on the normal one and is fine???

Yes, I don't have any trouble with mine even though I don't have BES. I need my emails and I don't know anything else that handles them as well as the blackberry.

Browsing is for personal use more than business use, but I'd like something that did both. Just occasionally I could really do with access to google for work.

The next 4-6 weeks will be interesting I think if the Iphone release does get in to the hands of Orange Vodaphone etc. Will force O2 to bring down thier outrageous prices!

With regard to the storm I have had a go on it and it seems quite nice.

Well I said what I would think when I had a good go on it, so here goes...

I received this on Friday mornin and I wasn't that excited as I had looked at loads and loads of other forums and reviews about this phone and I thought I was going to be disappointed...but I am delighted! It's great. The touch screen is perfect (I like that you have to press it down) and the browsing is great as well had no issues with it whatsoever - touch wood.

The fact that I have a great tariff on this phone now and that I really like it I'm over the moon.

I have had a go on the Iphone and obviously it is amazing but I like the storm and is gonna keep it
