Every time I print an image from my Macbook i get black lines across the image but do not get these lines if I print from a windows PC.

It will however print normal word documents without issues its just images that don't print correct

Im using a late 2011 Macbook Pro with Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

Any suggestions as i need to print images for wednesday and currently selling my windows pc and just wiped it don't want to reinstall the printer software

got a pic of the lines?

No but they look like the head is dragging across the page but it only happens when I print from my mac it's fine from the windows pc

Picture now added I've also reinstalled drivers and it still happens but will print word documents fine

What printer? I know some manufacturers haven't produce new drivers for Lio so that might be the problem.

does the printer pause at those points?

does it only do it on the basic resolution?

Nope continues as normal it acts the same as it does when printing from a windows pc

I've never changed the resolution where would this be

It prints word documents perfectly it's just images it does it with even screen shots I get the lines

I tried different types of paper and still does it

Ive tried new drivers still the same

I'm using the ones on here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson

Hi are you using a lead or wireless? Apple does have its own signals, therefore this could be the problem. I use an iMac and sometimes it will not print, but when I use the mac book pro it works first time every time. My Printer is a pixma 640. You could try a lead see if it still does it. Regards. Mike

I would suggest finding your way to something called colour management on your computer
and check it is set to what your printer requiries. Sorry can't help any further as I don't know enough about Macbooks

On windows the walkthrough is start-settings-control panel-display-advanced- look for colour management and check which profile you have and see if it is one your printer accepts

colour management won't cause those black lines

It's driving me crackers it's only doing it from the mac and on images not word docs I've googled but can't find anything

Just a suggestion, that's all. Best bet is to ask Epson and see what they come up with. Just a thought, have you tried printing photos via an Adobe editing program on your macbook?

No not yet but will try it and see

Sounds ridiculous but have you looked at the quality settings on the MAC...is it set to high speed over high quality.
Had a similar problem a while ago...rang Epson who were useless....figured it out in the end....I had it set to high speed...which was fine for word documents etc but not images which needed the High quality setting....I also ended up with those lines.....which I am presuming is already set on your PC as default but not your MAC.

As it happens my printer is the SX535WD so should basically be the same....if you go to 'print' you can adjust the quality settings there.

Thanks but how do i get this box up on my screen as i don't know where it is (stupid i know) i know how to find it on a windows but not mac

I got to this one from Photoshop, whichever program you are using to print images....go to 'print'....then select printer....from there you should see a settings tab/box.....you should be able to adjust the settings as you require there.
What program are you using to edit/print etc?
If you are using Epson Easy Print then follow the image below after selecting the one you want to print.

Neil.

P.S....I know I have it set to the wrong printer but you get the message. For your printer it should say High Quality not Best Photo. Dependant on which paper you choose also.
