Im after a small black backdrop no bigger than 1mx1m ideally.

It's for use with some macro work I plan to do. I have been using black card, but the card is more charcoal than black. So the question is whats the best (jet black) backdrop I can get on the cheap?

I'm guessing material of some sort, stretches and stapled to card of my desired size?

Black plastic? The gloss worries me though?

Any other ideas, material wise? Not sure whats the best to go with

Any advice or ideas appreciated!

Well a black sheet would do it..but hardly anything is as black as a black thing in a black hole.
By the sounds of it you will get a blacker black by altering the way you light your subject.
Charcoal is close enough with the right lighting:) maybe

A piece of black velvet is ideal because it absorbs light very well.
