Does anyone subscribe to the British journal of Photography digitally? I don't subscribe at all at the moment, but I often pick up a hard copy to read. Got my first one for a flight once and find it a decent publication. I was lucky enough to be given an iPad air last weekend for my birthday, but to be honest, I haven't even unwrapped it yet. Not to seem ungrateful but I am considering returning it, although if I do decide to keep it, I would be interested in how the digital version compares to the printed version. I am still very much a fan of having a hard copy with printed images to flick through but am also aware how good iPads are for digesting things like this. :)

I do yes... well, did. It compares well. I stopped subscribing though as we have the hard copy at work, and it seemed pointless, but it's good.

I have an iPad (seems to be constantly in my hand - on it now) and wouldn't be without it. Often read magazines on it. Took a few times to get over the lack of a paper copy in my hand but like them now. Also means that there isn't a pile of magazines getting in the way (don't like throwing them away). Am going to subscribe to B+W Photography next month.

Try dowloading a copy to try it. There are a few magazines around that give you a free/sample copy to try, the first issue of Lightroom magazine as an example.

Thank you both. I am still unsure to keep the iPad or not. I know that sounds really ungrateful, but other things have happened in my life on the same day/day before that have upset the apple cart that is my head. My parents are gutted that this amazing and expensive birthday present that I ummed and ahhed about buying myself is still wrapped up in it's sellophane 4 days after my birthday. That's a whole other story though.

Don't sack the iPad just yet. Give it a go. You'll be surprised how versatile a bit of kit it actually is & can be.

I us mine continuously, not just for the web but as a controller for a couple of cameras. It's also my portable photo album.

Thanks. It's now in use. Still haven't subscribed to BJP though. A few other priorities yet.
