bit of nostalgia?

Cool!

I've still got my first digital camera, a Relisys Dimera 2000, cost me £350 in 1997. Bless......had a resolution of 640x480 and fitted either 10 shots on the supplied 1 meg card, or 20 at 320x240 :)

and weighed one metric ton? used a year's worth of AA batteries in 5 mins?

In the right hands, the early dSLR's could still produce some pretty good shots..
That's another point, this one is early but not quite near earliest :)

Could be a good investment, to get one in good nick. They're quite abundant on the bay so usually go for the nice side of £100 - but in a few years (or a lot of years!)...

Mine never used AA batteries, it used CR123A which at the time were as rare as hens teeth. The cheapest I found was about 12 quid per battery, and downloading from the camera via serial cable, i could hear the cha ching of the batteries draining...lol

wicked! my first digital was a jenoptic 1.3mp camera

and it was crap
