I've got a close mate who's into running, boxing, martial arts, fitness etc, and we were talking about doing some shots of him in these situations.

I think the martial arts one is out of the question, as it's a one-on-one lesson and I think the teacher may see it as a distraction.

However, we spoke about some running shots. Obviously, they'd have to be staged as I can't keep up with him just running, let alone running and trying to take photos

I'm just looking for idea's basically, maybe someone has done something similar?

I've got a few ideas, but obviously the more the better. One of the idea's I had was a 'Rocky' type of thing, zip-up hoody on, hood up, shorts on, sweating etc, maybe a few shots jogging towards me.

I think the thing i'm stuck on is the location?...How can I pull it off without the photos looking like 'guy running down the road' type of thing.

I've got my 400D w/ kit lens, and a nifty fifty to work with.

Any ideas guys?

I'd take the running shots off the beaten track along a canal tow path or river bank early morning with some mist or something like that, if you took a bike you'd be able to get a head start and cycle off.... stop take some shots with the telephoto lens hand held leaning on a tree to stop any camera shake, then cycle further on.

There's no harm in asking the martial arts teacher for five minutes of a session he might appreciate some photos for publicity?

Gym shots pretty straight forward plenty of chrome/weights and maybe some flash blur shots to give some sense of movement

Good idea's dude, cheers!
