Buying decent sunflower hearts transformed the numbers and varieties of birds in my garden.
Now if only the damn squirrels would........................:bonk:
Thanks chaps, I may have found a solution. I steeped the seed in hot water for 15 minutes to soften it and it's now being guzzled very happily. I doubt that I'm doing the critters any harm.
I do use sunflower hearts pretty regularly but thought I'd give this stuff a try. Happy to render it at least edible
