Bird watching Guide to the Algarve

Just downloaded it, Bill. I go to the Algarve usually once a year (actually for astronomy) but do some birding while I'm there (got to do something during the day). We stay near Alvor so the Ria de Alvor area in the guide is where we normally go, also Sagres. The last couple of years there's been flamingos, spoonbills, white storks, lots of egrets as you would expect, all sorts of sea birds and lots of waders which are surprisingly approachable given there are no hides.

Damn! I wish I'd had this when I used to visit the Algarve onece a year.

Lagoa dos Salgados is also known as Pera Marshes. It's a great spot for birding, but possibly not for long. LINK

Anybody wanting some expert guiding, especially of the Lower Alentejo should check out this place - LINK
