Can someone help please :)

I have muted all the sounds shown in 'Sound' under 'Adjust your computer's settings.

But every five minutes or so I get the 'bing bong, bing bong... like a door bell. How do I switch this noise off please? Windows 7 Pro.

........or just click on the loudspeaker icon and mute.

Anyone at the door?

:coat:

Sorry guys, work :(

It's not an app, at least I don't think so. I've not downloaded any.

Don't particularly want to mute, I like having music on.

Thanks for your help :)

USB device disconnecting \ reconnecting. what else to you have connected to your computer?

+1 to this

If the sound is like "bing bong" but also "bong bing" then i will go with the sound associated with a device being plugged/unplugged.

Would that occur if I put a CD into the tray? I seem to recall it may have been at the same moment?

Very unlikely.
If it is the sound that redsnappa and myself think it is then it stems from a hardware device being plugged or unplugged (e.g. card reader, mouse, keyboard, external drive etc). There is a slight caveat though. The sound can also happen with internal hardware connections, usually due to driver issues)

I recall that when I first upgraded to Windows 10 I encountered a display driver issue, the result was a flashing screen and a continuous "bing bong" "bong bing" sound.
Not saying yours is the same issue or that my situation even helps you but it may be worth checking all your drivers are upto date etc.

Alternatively record the sound and share it with us :D

Many thanks guys, very much appreciated (y)
