Bill Oddie's Wild Side - Lens used

Anyone else see this tonight?

I was rather intrigued with the lens that John the cameraman was using to get up close to the insects. It was very long, with quite a narrow barrel. He got nice and close, but there was still a huge depth of field! Anyone know anything about this type of kit?

I've just watched that too Joe ... ... but don't know anything about movie type cameras ... :shrug: ... but weren't they some stunning shots he managed ...

It was probably a medical endoscope, attached to the front of a lens.

No idea on the lens either:shrug:, thought the shots of the hoverflies were stunning
