Have any of you guys used this Gibralter - based company, www.bignorman.com? Their prices are low, but not in the too-good-to-be-true category! For example a Nikon 1.8 50mm AF D comes in at £94.99 delivered and according to reviews there is no liability for any surcharges by the customer.

At this time I don't smell a rat, nor have I parted with any money, but would be interested in any experiences.

For the record, as far as I can see after a quick browse, they sell electronic equipment that seems to include lower end DSLR.

Thanks for any comments.

A work colleague has ordered a 60D from them, which is due for delivery imminently... If that goes okay then I think I might go for it as well.

I have two issues with using this firm. Firstly, for most items, a European Warranty is NOT the same as a UK warranty.

And secondly, taken from their web site:

My box has been opened. Why is this?

All cameras that come into our warehouse are security checked for missing items (batteries, chargers etc) before being sent out to our customers. This is to avoid disappointment to our customers when opening the box. Once the contents have been checked and verified, boxes are immediately packaged for dispatch.

Sorry. But I just don't believe this. It sounds like they are sourcing and shipping returned goods. I've never had packages (for high end goods) opened by the supplier.

Not worth it for the saving of a few pence.

That's an interesting point that I never thought of. I'm interested in their 60D price as it's significantly cheaper than UK dealers.

I'll have to inspect my colleagues unit before going for it myself.

I thought about them when I was buying my Canon EOS 600d but decided against them because their not one other Canon's authorised suppliers so I couldn't get the cashback deal and more importantly I wasn't too sure what that meant for the warranty. It was about £50 cheaper but the risk seemed too high.

Looked them recently, warranty being an issue as with most oversea purchases
