Hi guys,

I'm not a film user myself but trying to help a photo society get their darkroom back into regular use. I am trying to work out the most economical solution for black and white chemicals. The film is going to be a huge range of different types and there are quite a lot of different people using it so I presume the set-up has to be as general as possible. Basically I am looking for suggestions on what to use for the best value/decent results on film dev, stop, wetting agent, fixer and paper dev. We will be buying in bulk so please take that into consideration as well :)

Rodinal. It's called RO9 on the first call website. A tenner for half a litre. Lasts forever. You can buses as little as 5ml per film. D76 is cheap too. You can get 3.8 litres for just over a fiver. Our have to mix it though.

I would also consider HC-110. Its a good all-rounder and will happily dev fast and slow film. Rodinal isn't so great with faster films as it tends to accentuate the grain.
