Best rechargeable batteries for flashguns!?

+1 for Eneloops

If you want a couple of cheap sets, Lidl are doing packs of four AA 2500mAh rechargeables for £2.50... :)

I use 7dayshop 2800 rechargables and there 8 bed charger, great performance and quick charging.

I'd like to know about the chargers too. I've always used the "free" ones that come with batteries, and I can't say I've ever had any problems, but a lot of people do seem to like the expensive ones that discharge and recharge each battery individually and monitor their condition. Any comments?

the 'free' ones are dead slow, can't charge odd numbers of batteries, and some don't even have sensing for when the batteries are charged.

eneloops / 7ds clones and 8 bay charger all the way.

I think 7dayshop describe their eneloop clones as 'good to go'.

Supposedly they don't have the memory problems, so the need to fully discharge them is reduced

If you happen to be near a PC World it might be worth double checking if they have any of the GP ReCyko (Eneloop equivalent brand) sets in - I managed to pick up a couple of these recently for £4.99 each (with 4 AA batteries and a highspeed charger which does individual battery charging)
