Hi ...

I have a Epson 7600 large format printer and wondered what half decent profile equipment was available at a reasonable price to help me improve my results .. my colour work isnt too bad but would like to improve the B&W printing i do to help reduce some casting i get ..

I use 220ml after market chrome ink cartridges and an assortment of roll papers ... so it would seem sensible for me to buy some profiling kit

any help appreciated ..

I bought my calibration kit as a set, Spyder 3 Studio. This comes with the Spyder 3 Elite screen calibrator, and the printer profiler. I've used mine once and not had to calibrate it again. Might run it again soon to see if there are any changes but all looks good to me so far. Shop around, they are usually around £350.00 I think.

have you tried these profilers on Canvas .... with it being a rough slightly uneven surface do they still give good profiled results ?

Good question :) I've not really given it a try, I've profiled my printer to print gloss and matte only. I don't see why not, it mentions that the Spyder 3 Studio is geared for proffesionals and studios to colour match their prints with the colours on screen, so it should work with different types of printing media. Unless it was a sales pitch  But I've had great success with it on the gloss and matte. It profiles for colour and B&W printing.

Hi Volusian - i've been looking for aftermarket ink for my Epson 4000, but haven't found many positive reviews for any that are easy to get in the uk - could i ask which ink you're using and what you think of it ...i'm guessing it's not great if you're wanting to get profiling kit?

Thanks
