Best place to purchase new lens?

Shorter warranty and unknown history.

You'll get a years warranty from Canon, and 6 month from MPB. His descriptions are accurate, and it is easy to do business with him. The lens looks pretty clean and I wouldn't worry about a small amount of internal dust. Exc++ is very good condition. Hard to describe as mint with a little dust and no box but it looks more than OK.

If it failed after 13 months you' be in the same situation - but if you check it thoroughly on arrival then providing there is nothing wrong with it then I'd say you would be fine.

I was running some 10+ year old Canon lenses before I switched, and would happily have kept them longer (had the 1D MKIII bodies not been pants). £100 is a lot of money off that lens - and I'd say it was worth a decent look.
