Ok i have my 1st ever order for one of my photos fro a friend,

She wants the image printing on canvas and wants it to be about 70x50 cms. As it is so big I want to print from tiff.

Can anyone recommend a place that will print canvas from tiff?

Thanks

why? The only advantage of TIF over jpeg are for very specific applications - and if you are printing on canvas these would instantly dissapear.

Get the file as you need it - then save as a quality 10 jpeg

Well I have a canon 60d shot raw edited in aperture then saved as jpeg full quality and 300dpi.

Uploaded this too photobox and on the largest canvas something like 76x64cm says that it's only medium quality!

Surely using a tiff would be much better as it holds all the data unlike jpeg where info is removed to compress the file?

No.

You could resize the image - but any lab with good backroom software will do a better job of upscaling than you can - and printing on canvas will hide so much detail any - just stop worrying - it will be fine.

You say detail will be lost, what if there slot of detail in the image such as trees will this be ok?

Can I upload the image and show you, see if it's ok for canvas?

It will be fine, the texture of the canvas will hide any upscaling anyway. I had an image printed from my 12mp Nikon, ok it was 3 shots merged to a resolution of 7,000px but it was printed 6meters x 1.2m heigh on wallpaper and looks excellent.
