Ok i bet this gets asked alot but what do people here perfer to use to share photos online?
At the moment i use photobucket but not sure if i should change to flicker or something else?

It depends what you want.. if it's just a host for forum posting then there's little between them - pick the one that you find the easiest to use, if you want a photo community then Flickr wins hands-down. There are several other providers as well, TinyPic is Photobucket-lite and 500pix is becoming very popular if you're also looking for a portfolio host.

I personally use zenfolio. I think it's a nice way to show pictures. It's doesn't have that community that 500px and flickr has though. Different type of sites though. Depends on your needs.

Hi , I just set up an account with 500pix but how do you share photos(upload to Talk photography) ?

It's not a site optimised for easy hosting. They do provide an automatic HTML code for embedding an image, but not a bbcode.

As far as I can see, you need to upload the image to 500px at the size you'd like to share. Then you need to grap the link to the jpg and put it between IMG tags. If you wanted to link back to the 500px page, you'd need to wrap the IMG tags within URL tags. If this sounds like a foreign language, then 500px is the wrong image host for you. Photobucket and Flickr are both easier to use as hosts.

500px is a good sharing site, but a poor hosting site - unless you're using HTML, facebook, twitter or tumbler.

Be interested to see the recommendations.
Been using the free photobucket site which had quite a large size limit on pics. Discovered recently that they have now drastically reduced the size of all my stored pictures to "web use" size.
Glad I have back ups on DVD.

I did a comparison between photobucket and flickr here.
