Hi all
As always with lenses I've seen a lot of different opinions on lenses and just wondered if I could pick the TP brains on which of these lenses I'd be better off with! My camera is a 1000D by the way.
I already own the Tamron 70-300mm f4/5.6 DI LD Macro, and am considering adding/changing to either the Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS or Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.
I would be looking to use the lens for some wildlife pics mainly, garden and pond birds mainly I expect, hence the need for the length and I know there would be an issue there in buying an EF-S. For a DSLR noob I think I've had some reasonably good shots from the Tamron, can't complain so far but I don't know if the IS/lens quality of the others might be vastly better and worth the cost of changing.
My budget doesn't stretch much beyond a second hand purchase of the last one although I suppose I could get rid of the Tamron if I do change. I know that none of these lenses will be astonishing, it's just getting the best I can at the moment - until that lottery win comes along
If I need to give any more info to establish which one might be best, fire away, all comments appreciated as always
