Currently I offer pretty much anything from OVI over 10x15". Maybe this is not such a good idea after all - and they need to be told what they should buy exactly?

The main product is normal 18x12" print - which is probably still too much everyday to bring the 'wow' factor. Ideally I want to sell even larger - things just look a lot better when they are crazy big (landscapes at least)

Would you think I should push metallic prints, fine art prints and / or insist on framing, or do people prefer just the prints?

And what is the general consensus about modern stuff like box frame, aluminium mounted prints, acrylic and canvas. I can't say they were popular so far. Shall I keep some or get rid of them?

And finally, what would be the best large demo product to conveniently take to retail and really wow them? The rest will be in A3 book and ipad.

P.S. How do people in Zefolio deal with different aspect ratios (presuming photo simply can't be cropped or it looks bad)? It takes a lot of options to cover for everything and I fear this scares some people away.

Different photos suit different mediums, and different mediums suit different situations, an acrylic looks great in my modern kitchen but would look totally out of place in an old Victorian house with period fixtures

Sorry you thread seems a little disjointed you seem to have had different questions in your head but not really asked them totally, what do you want to do, sell photos direct to the consumer or sell them in shops, also I take it your asking what sells, personally if I'm ordering a print I don't want it framed as I'd rather get it framed to the same style and specification I already have

OK, thanks for your thoughts. It is nice to know that bare prints may be more attractive. Can we expand on that:

* Do you then expect them to be mounted or backed?
* "Regular" gloss prints vs regular matt vs metallic vs fine art - let people choose or make a choice for them? (I can't do this for individual photos, but only for larger sets).
* They can customise their frame and mounts almost any way they like when they order framed prints from Zenfolio - would that tick the box?

I am selling directly to customers and small businesses but I can't see anything wrong with selling through shops (sorry they can't have complete exclusivity, no chance). In fact this seems like a natural expansion, and I am most certainly going this route right now hence my questions. I simply do not want to end up with yet another bland failing product on the high street and want to create some wow factor with my prints. To be honest it doesn't even matter where I sell it. At the end of the day customer receives the same product and they have to be happy and proud of it.

For me I like to get all my photos mounted and framed at my own shop I use this is because I want a consistent look so any mounting done by yourself doesn't really add value to the product for me, what adds value is a very high quality print finish that is exceptionally well packaged to ensure it doesn't suffer in transit

Weather I'm the exception I don't know, I have all sorts of prints up on different materials I tend to pick to look of the material to go with the type of image
