My really old pc has finally died so bough ta new one with the following:

i5 2500k processor @ 3.3 GHz (over clockable to about 4.3 GHz
8GB Ram
onboard HD 3000 graphics

Im no longer a big gamer as I use the xbox 360 for gaming but do still occasionally play on the pc

My question is simple...what is the best graphics card for between £40 and £50 or won't I get anything better out of a card for that price than that of the onboard chip?

Any advice greatly received as I haven't bought a graphics card since the AGP days. :D

the onboard i5 graphics are supposed to be pretty handy and should be okay on low settings for games. what sort of games are you running?

a second hand 5770 is a little over budget but will handle COD MW3 on reasonable settings.

will depend on what rated power supply you have fitted also as to what card you can fit, if its a cheap no branded unit take the wattage with a large pinch of salt. also it may not have a PCI-e power connector.

Thanks for the reply. I've got a half decent 550W psu with a dedicated pci-e connector so should be fine.

As soon as i saw your reply, i looked and put a last second bid on eBay and won a 5770 for £47.
