Best compact camera for £500 budget

I have a Panasonic TZ100 and there's a mark II out too.

It's a 1" sensor compact with a 25-250mm zoom and an EVF.

Sony do 1" sensor compacts too, I think they have shorter but faster lenses. One thing that puts me off the Sonys is that the EVF pops up and stands proud of the camera body. I prefer the layout of the TZ100.

There's an owner thread with some pictures.

What have you got in mind then Joel?

Pocketable or for small bag?
EVF? Flip up screen?
Long/med/short reach? Fixed focal length?
Sensor size?
New, used?

One I own & love ... Canon G7X, 1 inch sensor, no EVF, flip up screen, 24-100mm equiv.

One I'm interested in ... Panasonic LX100 2, M43, EVF but no flip up screen (unfortunately), 24-75mm equiv.

The smaller Panasonics with 1 inch sensor are good as @woof woof says.

Earlier versions of the Ricoh GR and Fujifilm X100 series might be within budget.
