Hello All,
I know this is very debatable and subjective to personal preference and a whole load of other contributing factors and i don't expect a perfect answer but more so peoples experience view.
I like my sports photography and im looking to develop event photography, both of which have completely separate requirements. though i will attend more events than sports as its more local and lower cost to attend.
Currently shooting using a 50d which i think i might as well retain on buying a new body due to how much they are now worth, my lenses are all FF compatible sigma 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8 and 50mm 1.8 but i feel my body is letting me down on lower light performance. Ive only ever used APS-C so full frame is new and i know what it is but whether its right for me i do not know other than the light benefits.
Looking in Canons line up the obvious choices for sports would be the 7dmkii (or stick with what i have)
for events would be 6d or 5dmkiii - the 6d which seems to be severely crippled and the 5d being 2x as expensive. I was advise by a pro event tog i was best to stay with APS-C bodys but these suffer in lower light more
Also... from research with the mirror-less bodys its seeming APS-C bodys will be leaving the market during the next few years so maybe buying a new APS-C body now is the wrong time.
What is people take and opinion on this, should i make do with what i have and work on this etc or should i plunge into something else, this pro tog who does events also ditched Canon for Panasonic Mirror-less to which seems to swear by and that Canon along with Nikon pull out of the mirrorless market too. i played with the Panasonics at the event and they look great through the viewfinder, quick and light but that i think is one of the big selling points but as soon as you add a wider app lens the body will be the least of the issue.
i don't mean to start a debate or a war between brands and pixels etc each has their own benefit no doubt and i do appreciate an feedback that can be given.
