Best camera for 7 year old child

Hi there,

Looking for some advise on which camera I should buy my little girl, she will be 7 in October.

I am looking for something that cannot be easily broken and will be easy for a 7 year old to use. It would also be helpful if the software that comes with it is easy to use.

My budget is £60 but I don't mind second hand as long as it is in good condition and works etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.
 
We bought our daughter (age 7) a S/H Canon powershot A75 for around £60.
It is simpe enough to use and she is now using it quite creatively and learning about the macro mode etc.
She downloads the pics straight into windows and has played around with various bits of software.
7 year olds find computers very quick to master.
The camera has been very robust and is a good size for her to hold and control.

It also uses standard AA batteries which is a bonus as 4 of them last ages and are easily replaced when the tears start if the batteries die, usually Dad's flashgun gets its batts robbed!!

My daughter is 7 and she uses a fuji z30 and she loves it nice big lcd screen, can shoot video as well and it's bright pink.
 
Reminds me of when I went to the zoo a few weeks back and a woman let her kid who could have been no more than 5 walk around with what I think was a D90. It was swinging around his neck and nearly whacked it a few times. Why would you let a kid loose on one of those without proper supervision!! :cuckoo:
 
My nephew is 2 and he loves old film cameras for the noise the shutter release makes. I taught him how to use my old zeiss ikon and he's obsessed now. I'm looking forward to developing his first film :D
 
We got a canon power shot A470 off ebay for £16 for my 9 year old daughter and she loves it. It takes some cracking photos and it even rotated the display when you go from landscape to portrait etc which I think is quite advanced
