I hear TIFF is the file format to use (if you don't have RAW) but is TIFF better to use than PNG which is a lossless format.

Which gives better quality ??

I honestly doubt you'd notice a dramatic difference in quality between the two, but I'd pick TIFF just out of habit.

Why not test it for yourself? Save one of your more detailed full-resolution images in both formats and then see if you can notice a marked difference between the two when viewing at 100%.

TIFF is a "lossless" format so is technically best.

jpeg uses compression and the image degrades slightly every time it is saved.

TIFF would be best, but the drawback is that files are huge.

I shoot in RAW and save as a jpeg.

Theres a few PNG's which did you mean? photoshops png 24 is ok but the png 8 is really for graphics and I wouldn't use it for photos.
Personally I'd use TIFF it's a more common format, theres more chance of it being supported in years to come. Wayne

PNG is a web image format essentially

TIF is a high quality CMYK image format used in print
