best all round lens for my 350D

has the title really i want a lens thats an all rounder till i find my feet so ideas and info would be great. on a tight-ish budget too has xmas and all that.

i have a canon 350Dand i dont mind second hand/refurbished places etc...

What's your budget and what kind of focal length range are you wanting to cover?

budget still to be discussed with the boss but in the region off £100 and range from 18-200mm anywhere between so im able to take a wide range off pictures...

i recently borrowed a 350d and found the 24..105mm to have really good range. OK that lens is really expensive but there is the 28..105 and 28..135 which might be worth a look (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CANON-EF-28-1...14&_trkparms=72:1300|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318 for example).

For that price I'd say second hand, keep your eyes open on the for sale forum here they come up from time to time and check out other photography forums and ebay. With a small budget second hand is the way to go.

Yeah i thought that but just wanted to double check. I'm willing to pay the retail price atm but thought if i can save money why not..
