for about £400-£450?

Can't be an inch over 40 I'm afraid, indeed if anyone knows of a smaller one...

Any recommendations, TIA

I looked at this a few months ago. Samsung panels were good but truth be told you have to sit quite close to the TV to see the benefit of 4K. It's something like 1.5m. If you sit further away, there's no visible difference over 1080p (apart from non HD channels will look rubbish).

Edit: samsung ue40mu6100/6400. There's a good sony one but can't find it.

Go into richersounds. Best place to buy from. If you give them your requirements they'll find you the best one.

I love the picture quality of Sony and Panasonic TVs but the Sony Android OS kept crashing and restarting the TV so I got a Panasonic one and it's been faultless.

What I did was load a USB stick up with high quality trailers which you can download and then tested lots of different models in Currys. Bought from Richer Sounds though. I found that LG TVs struggled to play the films but the other brands were fine.

Thanks all.

The Samsung does look good. I will be using the tv for two purposes. Firstly general tv where we will be sat 3 metres away at least but that's fine.

The tv will also be on a swivel arm and will swivel into a window seat for some gaming where I will be about 1.5 metres away!

Currently have a Sony but iPlayer keeps crashing every 10 seconds. A known problem with the 2014 (yep hardly old) Sony tv's.

Don't want another remote so won't be plugging a fire stick in.

It's worth getting a 4K over a normal tv just for viewing photos in my opinion
I upgraded the tv in my man cave that I play Xbox on to a Samsung 40 inch 4K
4K isn't nessersary for Xbox but photos look amazing on it

My pc is more than capable of some 4K gaming so it's defo 4K rather than 1080p.

Any others worth considering?

The Samsung 6000 series does look good

Just checked out the Samsung 6100 and it's a curved screen which initially I wasn't keen on but it actually makes the to shorter in width compared to a non curved, in fact it's nearly 10cm less in width which means it fits even better into my alcove!

Try as I might I can't find out two things

Is this screen 60hz ?
What's the screens response time in ms?
