Has anyone tried/tested the Bessel flash heads. I've seen some positive comments on TP about their accessories and customer service.

I'm thinking of getting these heads:

Am I being optimistic to expect a good quality 600w head for £270? Any comments much appreciated.

Thanks, Patrick

Hi well there unit is about 2 miles away from me, I went down and bought a background support. the guy was really nice and dose seem to care. Bessel equipment is priced well build quality well it not what you call great but for the price your not expecting profoto. if its for a now and again home setup fine but all day every day maybe not. i might be wrong.

I had a nosy at them and they seemed pretty good quality. I already have numerous Bowens, so I didn't buy any. But if you phone up Bessel they'll more than happily talk to you about them and tell you honestly. Really really nice guy who owns it and is very upfront about everything!

I've looked at the Lencarta stuff as well. Getting a hands-on at one of their workshops next weekend.

I can put my hand on my heart and thoroughly recommend their gear. I use the Safari kit a lot, particularly for wedding work and location shoots. It's not just the quality of the kit, but the aftercare and service too.
The Safari had a bit of a breakdown in the middle of a shoot and I phoned Garry at Lencarta who reassured me and told me to send it straight in. Even though I made him aware it was out of warranty, he sorted it and sent it back in time for a wedding brochure shoot for a hotel chain. Didn't even charge me for the return postage.

For that kind of service and support, I'm kitting my four studios with Lencarta, apart from the Bowns Quadpack 3K I have.

I purchased a softbox at the focus on imaging show, tried to put it together tonight and it fell apart, torn. I have emailed them to see what to do next. I must say that my confidence is a bit dented, the chap who served me said they go through stringent quality checking.

I assume that it's not Lencarta that you're talking about here?

Wish I'd had the same experience as you!

Given his connections with Lencarta Michael is guaranteed a good experience though ;)

:nono:

Nice try.

Check the date of my original post. It pre-dates my "connection with Lencarta" as you put it.

And the problem I'd encountered with my own Safari had occurred over 12 months before that post.

been around for a while yeah, I registered in 2010. I just don't track many members careers :)

I actually thought you had been around a lot longer than that, for some reason.

That's because you've aged 10 years since taking Lencarta on as a client:lol::lol::lol:
