Hi All

I see many recommendations for the likes of Cotswold company but most that I have following through to appear to only offer standard mounts i.e. for say a 12x8 print there seems to be a surmise that the print will be bleed edge and therefore the mount is cut something like 3mm all round (or more?) smaller than the print! Well I am in the process of getting prints made exact image size (again for examples sake) 12x8 but with a 10mm border for mounting cleanly.

So what I am looking for is a suppler who can cut me multiple mounts accurately (I understand these are now done CNC so very close tolerances are possible ~ but how close?) so the aperture is only say 1.5mm smaller than the image printed area plus of a total size to fit standard frames :) Also looking to get thin backing board from the same source to compliment the mounts.

Now as noted many (most) suppliers cut standard sizes but surely do not cut 1000's at a time for stock so hopefully the premium for cutting bespoke sizes will not be prohibitive :)

TIA for the insights & feedback

They can be cut exact using CMC machines, they are super accurate, one of the best things i ever bought for the shop.

Many thanks for the feedback though CMC almost looked like a typo until I looked it up..........................there was me using Computer Numerical Control and now I know that mount cutting machinery makers just tweaked the name to reflect their industry ;)

PS FWIW I have found that there are Wizard brand users in my locale so will have to see if they can be competitive for my requirements??? :)

Judging from their website it seems Cotswold will cut the aperture any size you want as long as the outer dimensions of the card match one of their 'frame size' options - e.g. see the second price table here: http://www.cotswoldmounts.co.uk/single_mount_prices.htm.
