Hi All
Went to the digital splash show at Preston on Sunday.
I was looking at a Benq SW2700PT monitor, looked impressive for £500.
Any thoughts, suggestions on this monitor would be a big help as I don't know the first thing about them.
Only need a monitor for home use so £500 is about as much as I would like to pay.
I know there is a calibrator to buy aswell.

BenQ make superb displays. I dont know much about the SW2700PT other than what I have read in reviews but I do have the BL3200 32" Pro screen and it is just awesome. It is sRGB calibrated where the SW is more specifically for photgraphers because its Adobe RGB colourspace so technically it should be even better if that is important to you.
There was however an interesting debate about Adobe colourspace and monitors in some thread on here a while back but I dont remember the details nor do I have enough insight to comment. I believe Pookeyhead and strumstrum had some excellent input but I could be wrong.

Never used this screen but I hear good things. It can be hardware profiled when used with the X-Rite i1 Display Pro, and uses the Phillips derived AHVA type panel. While described as IPS, this is not strictly true... it actually operated in a similar way to the Samsung P-VA panels used to, which is no bad thing IMO as you get better black levels.

For the price I'd suggest you can't go wrong. If you want hardware profiling at a sub 4 figure sum, then it's either this or one of the Dell offerings.

There you go snooks, I knew Pookeyhead would have input. ;)

Thanks for the advice guys
I found a thread which was basically saying AdobeRGB is better than sRGB but the industry standard is sRGB , probably got it wrong again. Going to get it from Wilikinsons so they should know what's best.
