Is Bempton Cliffs worth going to at this time of year?

I'm wanting to use my Sigma 150-500mm a worthwhile go there, unless there's other places that are worth going to at this time of year?

Gulls will still be there. Guillemots, razorbills, puffins will be gone as will the gannetts and kittiwakes.

I saw photos taken from here a couple of weeks ago and there looked to be plenty of birds including gannets then, things can change quick though. I think seals start arriving at Donna Nook in north Lincolnshire in October, might be worth considering if you're into photographing other wildlife

Hi Dave
It might be worth emailing Bempton (bempton.cliffs@rspb.org.uk) asking what still there, as I'm sure the Gannets don't leave until mid/late October. I was there the other week and it was still teeming with them with plenty of opportunities of getting some good shots.

I actually tweeted them and they said that there's still gannets there and migratory birds.

Went out today to my local tarn and took some shots with the 150-500mm lens, none of them were any good so I deleted them all :/
Goes to show I haven't used the lens much....and I should have used a faster shutter speed. Oh well we all make mistakes.

That just sounds like my problem, my last visit to Bempton ended with 99% of the images dumped and the other 1% kept as a reminder I was there! I always like been out in the wilds anyway so it's never a wasted visit.
One thing I learnt years ago is not to forget to 'just look' at the wildlife instead of always trying to get a decent shot.
