Bell & Howell Two Fifty Two 8mm Movie Camera

I have a Bell & Howell Two Fifty Two 8mm movie camera. I believe it is from the 50s. I am wondering if I can just buy regular 8mm film to use in it. I’m not familiar with cameras and I don’t want to waste my money.

A quick google (hint!) shows that standard / double-8 film is sort of available but costs for purchase, process and scan are around £80 per roll!
I would also suggest that your camera is far from ideal for someone unfamiliar with cameras as it doesn't have a built-in light meter so would require the use of an external meter to set the exposure.
