Beike BK03 ball head

I wondered the same, so bought one out of interest, and also because I wanted something to position some studio items that didn't require anything of any quality.

Which is just as well. It works, just about, but is crudely made and imprecise. I wouldn't put a camera on it.

The best value ball head I've used is the RedSnapper RSH-12 at £60. That's very good - well made, smooth and unusually precise for fine positioning. They used to do 10% discount to TP members. http://www.redsnapperuk.com/camera-accessories/RSH-12_Ball_head.html

Im using a Manfotto Xpro ball head which is excellent. They do an arca version too.

The Pig Iron range seem decent for budget ball heads.

Nothing wrong with that beike head I have one on my mono pod for use with a sigma 150-600 sport at around 3 kg ,handles it no problem ,and no sloppyness
Always handy for whacking loud mouthed little bastards as well

Yeah saw the Pig Head units also, they look a good sturdy head.

For the price I'm gonna order one of these Beike units and see what they're like. If rubbish I'll just use it in the studio instead for a flash head or something!
