Hi,
I am photographing a football match tomorrow night and im doing behind the goal photography, as in the camera on the pitch behind the goal and me standing in the stand using a reomote trigger,my question is should i use manual or auto focus ?
and if anybody else has done this,any other tips would be greatfull,

Firstly, be sure your remote will reach...you're looking at about 30m distance...so test first.

With regards to focus etc. I'd go for manual focus, wide open, focussed on the goal-line (so roughly 1.5m focus distance). Make sure that when you place the remote, you're not going to get flare from the floodlights and that you pull the net tight and place your camera out of the maximum stretch of the net...that way you'll not get the ball smacking your camera.

Remotes are not for the cowardly or uninitiated... :D Get it right however, and they're great.

Also, don't be disappointed if you dont get any keepers...out of roughly 400-500 remote shots per season, I come away with perhaps 3 or 4 that are worth keeping.
